I made the mistake of leaving my hometown mechanic whom I have been dealing with for 15 years because I thought that he was too slow. What I lost in patience, I made up in price. I'm an idiot. A tune up, an AC recharge and an ignition switch that I know that I didn't need, cost me almost $800. If I would have gotten the breaks done, it would have been another $600. My hometown mechanic whom I so sadly misconstrued as being slow would have only charged me half of what I paid today and would have included the break job. I signed the paperwork stating that anything over $500, I would need a written estimate prior to work being done. However, after several phone calls and BS from the Service Advisor, when I arrived my bill was $764.46. I paid the bill and advised the service advisor that with these kind of prices, they won't be in business long in this area.He informed me that they could not compete with the smaller business's. I will never go back or refer anyone to Honest-1 of Ormond Beach. I will go back to my local mechanic who has always done right by me and whose prices are decent and fair. I have learned an expensive lesson and will never be inpatient again.
We are VERY sorry that you did not have a good experience with us. That is the last thing we ever want to have happen. Comparing pricing is subjective. Not only do you have to consider the total price but the scope of the work, the quality of the parts, the warranty given and the total value being provided. We have done several pricing surveys to make sure our prices are inline or better than other local shops which they are. Our policy is that we will always match/beat any written estimate. Again, we are very sorry you had a bad experience with us but we hope we get to serve you in the future.
